These pictures are an absolute first for me because I had never ever woken up that early to go out and take photos before in my life! But I feel that the pictures and, much more, the live experience, were well worth it and I am looking forward to doing it again.
All these were taken at the Flehenbach in Brück, a part of Cologne, Germany, basically the same location where I shot the Demoiselles from the last blog entry. These pictures, even the dew-covered insects, were all taken without flash and on a tripod, prior to sunrise. The one with the longest exposure was a full 1.6 seconds! I used OM Zuiko lenses (50/3.5 Macro, 135/2.8 and 200/4) on my E-M5 for all of them exept the first two.
